Ignite Tops Wolves To End Four-Game Losing Streak

HENDERSON, Nev., Feb. 27, 2023 NBA G League Ignite (8-13) defeated the Iowa Wolves (6-16), 125-110, to end its four-game losing streak on Monday night at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.

Leonard Miller led the way for Ignite after notching his six-straight double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Sidy Cissoko followed closely behind with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists on 8-of-17 shots from the field, including 4-of-7 from the three-point line. Cissoko has scored at least 20 points in three consecutive games. London Johnson and Mojave King went perfect from the field to finish with 18 and 14 points, respectively. Cameron Young tallied 16 points, three assists and two rebounds, while Scoot Henderson nearly recorded a triple-double with 14 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

Emmanuel Mudiay paced the Wolves with a game-high 30 points, six rebounds and six assists on 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. D.J. Carton finished with a final stat line of 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Matt Lewis and Simisola Shittu each posted 12 points apiece. Jordy Tshimanga recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

After trailing by 11 points in the first quarter, Ignite climbed back into the game by using an 11-2 run to take a four-point lead with a little over three minutes remaining in the half. Cameron Young provided a spark after pouring 12 points in the second quarter on 5-of-6 shots from the field, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc. The Wolves fought back to take a 62-61 lead at the halfway mark behind Emmanuel Mudiay’s 17-point first-half performance.

The third quarter had 15 lead changes as Ignite outscored the wolves 27-20 in the frame to take a six-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the period, Ignite shot 56.2 percent from the field, including 50 percent from the three-point line, to edge out an 88-82 advantage through three quarters. Ignite’s hot shooting continued in the final period, led by London Johnson, who scored 14 of his 18 points in the frame. Scoot Henderson added eight points, including two clutch three-pointers within the final minute of regulation, as Ignite extended its lead by 15 points to seal the victory. Ignite held the advantage in rebounds (51-42) and in the assist column (27-21) en route to snapping its four-game losing streak.
