STOCKTON, Calif., Dec. 2, 2023 NBA G League Ignite (1-8) defeated the Stockton Kings (4-5), 100-93, on Saturday at the Adventist Health Arena in Stockton, Calif.

Ron Holland paced Ignite with 21 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. London Johnson followed closely behind with 20 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals on 8-of-13 shooting from the field, including 2-of-4 from the three-point line. John Jenkins added 16 points and five rebounds, while Admon Gilder finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. In his season debut, Matas Buzelis had a final stat line of 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks in only 16 minutes of action.

Jordan Ford led the Kings with a game-high 22 points, five assists and four rebounds on 8-of-16 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from behind the arc. Deonte Burton and Kalob Ledoux poured in 17 points apiece. Burton tallied five rebounds, while Ledoux added eight rebounds and seven assists. Chance Comanche posted a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

London Johnson set the tone early after scoring 10 of his 20 points in the opening quarter on 4-of-6 shots from the field, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc. Ignite fed off of Johnson’s hot start to take a three-point lead into the second frame. The Kings turned up their defensive intensity in the second quarter to limit Ignite to only 18 points in the frame. Jordan Ford and Skal Labissiere helped the Kings overtake Ignite in the second period after pouring in eight and six points, respectively. The Kings took its largest lead of the game, 14, in the second period and held a 56-48 advantage at the halfway mark. Both teams battled relentlessly in the third period, as neither team could pull away from one another. In a thrilling fourth quarter, Ignite opened the frame on a 12-4 run to take a five-point lead with under seven minutes remaining in regulation. The Kings continued to fight to even the score at 93-93 at the 1:06 mark. Ron Holland capped off an impressive fourth quarter with a ridiculous and-one basket to give Ignite a three-point lead with 35 seconds remaining. Ignite closed the game on a 9-0 run to seal its first victory of the season.
