Ignite Tops Skyhawks In College Park, 130-113

COLLEGE PARK, Ga., March 9, 2023 – NBA G League Ignite (10-16) snapped its three-game losing streak after defeating the College Park Skyhawks (13-13), 130-113, on Thursday at The Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Ga.
Leonard Miller paced Ignite after a dominating performance with a game-high 33 points and 11 rebounds on 13-of-17 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 from the three-point line. John Jenkins followed with 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Eric Mika added another double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Scoot Henderson had a final stat line of 15 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds.
Langston Galloway led the Skyhawks with 32 points off the bench on 9-of-13 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from behind the arc. Donovan Williams provided 21 points and five rebounds, while Malik Ellison finished with 11 points, four rebounds and two assists,
Ignite used a record-setting first-half performance to take a 21-point lead at the halfway mark led by John Jenkins, who poured 17 of his 29 points on 6-of-8 shots from the field, including 2-of-3 from the three-point line. After trailing by one point after the opening period, Ignite outscored the Skyhawks by 49-27 in the second quarter. Pooh Jeter provided a massive spark after scoring 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from behind the arc, while Scoot Henderson followed closely behind with 11 points. Ignite couldn’t seem to miss after shooting 70.4 perfect from the field and 87.5 percent from the three-point line in the frame. Ignite’s 49 points in the period marked a single-game record for the most points in a quarter in Ignite history.
Ignite took its largest lead of 26 points in the second half after continuing its hot shooting from the field. Despite multiple runs in the second half by the Skyhawks, Ignite held its lead behind Leonard Miller, who tallied 23 of his 33 points on 9-of-10 shots from the field in that span. Langston Galloway, of the Skyhawks, tried to lead his team to a comeback after a 17-point second-half performance. Ignite held the advantage in rebounds (46-33), assists (38-18) and steals (8-6) en route to securing the win.
