SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Dec. 16, 2022 NBA G League Ignite (4-12) snapped its eight-game losing streak on Friday night to complete the Showcase Cup schedule in a 122-118 victory against the Santa Cruz Warriors at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, Calif.

Ignite was led by Pooh Jeter, who recorded a season-high 22 points with six assists on 9-of-15 shots from the field, including 4-of-6 from the three-point line. Leonard Miller, John Jenkins, and Mojave King each finished with 13 points apiece. Mika added a team-high nine rebounds and seven assists, while Miller faced foul trouble throughout the game and only saw 17 minutes of action.

London Johnson earned his first career start after being sidelined for the past 13 games with a hip injury. Johnson provided a spark in the second half, as he poured in all of his 11 points on 3-of-4 shots from the three-point line.

Lester Quinones and Trevion Williams led the way for the Warriors, as Quinones poured in a game-high 24 points with five rebounds and three assists, while Williams notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds with nine assists.

Ignite scored the opening basket and would not trail until late in the fourth quarter. Ignite claimed its largest lead, 16, of the game in the opening frame while holding the Warriors to only 20 first-quarter points, which matched their season low. Jeter scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half as Ignite took a 7-point advantage into halftime. Johnson caught fire in the third quarter, as he scored eight of his 11 points on 3-of-3 from the field, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc in that span.

The Warriors battled back in the fourth quarter to make things interesting down the stretch. Down three with a little under seven minutes remaining in regulation, the Warriors knocked down two consecutive three-pointers to take their first lead, 112-109. Ignite responded by using a 9-0 run to reclaim the lead. Pooh Jeter put the finishing touches on the game by knocking down a clutch midrange jumper to give Ignite a four-point advantage in the final 12 seconds to seal the victory.
