Ignite Signs Center Landry Nnoko

HENDERSON, Nev., Feb. 3, 2023 NBA G League Ignite has signed center Landry Nnoko, NBA G League Ignite General Manager Anthony McClish announced today.

Nnoko, the 2017-18 NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year, will add additional veteran presence to the team after spending the past seven years playing professionally in the G League and overseas.

The 6-10 center from Yaoundé, Cameroon has spent time with eight professional teams, including the Grand Rapids Drive during the 2017-18 season. During his sole season with Grand Rapids, Nnoko averaged 14.7 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.06 blocks per game to earn NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year honors. He finished second in the G League in rebounds per game and fourth in blocks per game while recording 27 double-doubles, which was tied for second in the league, and earned third-team All-NBA G League and NBA G League All-Defensive honors.

Nnoko’s career also includes stops in Italy, Turkey, Germany, Serbia and Spain. He was named the Adriatic ABA League’s Finals MVP in 2021 during his time with Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda squad. Most recently, Nnoko played 19 games with the Suwon KT Sonicboom in the Korean Basketball League, where he averaged 5.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 0.5 blocks and 0.3 steals per game.

Nnoko attended Clemson University for four seasons, where he earned ACC All-Defensive team honors during the 2015-16 season while also leading the league in blocked shots that same season.

In a corresponding roster move, the team has released forward Aubrey Dawkins.
