HENDERSON, Nev., Feb. 28, 2023 – NBA G League Ignite (9-13) topped the Iowa Wolves (6-17), 110-102, on Tuesday night to take the two-game series at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.

John Jenkins caught fire to lead the way for Ignite as he finished with 24 points, three assists and three steals on 9-of-16 shots from the field, including 6-of-11 from the three-point line. Sidy Cissoko posted 22 points, five assists, four steals and two rebounds en route to his fourth-straight game with at least 20 points. Leonard Miller (14 points, 11 rebounds) added another double-double, while Scoot Henderson pitched in 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Josh Minott erupted in his return to lead the Wolves with a game-high 37 points and 11 rebounds on 16-of-21 shots from the field. Emmanuel Mudiay followed with 16 points, six assists and three rebounds, while D.J. Carton finished with 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.

After going scoreless in the opening minutes, Ignite dug itself into a six-point hole early. Ignite quickly erased its deficit by outscoring the Wolves by 27-16 to close the quarter with a five-point lead. Each Ignite player who saw action in the opening frame registered at least two points. In a gritty back-and-forth second quarter with the score tied at 38-38, Ignite used a 19-6 run to take a 13-point lead at the halfway mark. Sidy Cissoko and Cameron Young led the way in the first half with 10 points each. Ignite forced 16 turnovers in the first half, which resulted in 20 points, while holding the Wolves to a 15.4 shooting percentage from behind the arc.

Ignite extended its lead by 17 points in the third quarter and held the advantage for the rest of the game despite several runs by the Wolves. John Jenkins kept Ignite afloat in the third quarter after scoring 14 of his 24 points along with four three-pointers in the frame to help Ignite edge out a nine-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Down by 16 points with under five minutes left in regulation, the Wolves attempted to claw back into the game by scoring 10 consecutive points to cut its deficit to six points with 40 seconds remaining. Ignite scored on the next two possessions to hold on to the victory.
