Ignite Falls To Legends In Frisco, 107-89

FRISCO, Texas, Feb. 11, 2023 NBA G League Ignite (7-11) was defeated by the Texas Legends (6-10), 107-89, on Saturday at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.                   

Mojave King led the way for Ignite with 26 points, seven rebounds and two assists on 10-of-18 shots from the field. Cameron Young added 19 points and seven rebounds, while Leonard Miller recorded his third-straight double-double as he tallied 15 points and 14 rounds with four assists. London Johnson finished with 15 points and four assists.

The Legends were led by Grant Riller, who poured in a game-high 31 points along with three assists and two rebounds on 11-of-18 shooting from the field. James Banks III notched a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Tyler Dorsey poured in 17 points.

After a back-and-forth battle for the majority of the first half with the score even at 41-41, Ignite used a 13-2 run to take an 11-point lead with under two minutes remaining. Mojave King found a rhythm early to score 18 of his 26 points on 7-of-10 shots from the field in the first half. Leonard Miller added 15 points to help give Ignite a six-point advantage at the halfway mark. As a team, Ignite shot 53.8 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc in that span.

With a short rotation, Ignite began to run out of gas in the second half. Ignite kept it close throughout the third quarter and only trailed by six points heading into the final frame. The Legends took advantage of Ignite’s depleted roster in the fourth quarter as they began the frame on a 17-3 run take a 20-point lead with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation. The Legends held Ignite to only 14 points in the quarter as it would coast to the victory.
