EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 25, 2023 NBA G League Ignite (11-21) fell in its season finale to the South Bay Lakers (21-11), 120-96, on Saturday at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, Calif.

Ignite was led by Pooh Jeter who finished with 21 points, six assists and four rebounds on 8-of-16 shots from the field, including 5-of-10 from the three-point line. London Johnson followed with 17 points, four assists and three rebounds, while Mojave King added 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Babacar Sane recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

The Lakers were paced by Cole Swider, who finished with a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds on 10-of-19 shots from the field. Max Christie pitched in 17 points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals, while LJ Figueroa tallied 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Javante McCoy (14 points, 10 assists) and Shaquille Harrison (11 points, 12 assists) each notched a double-double.

In a four-point game early in the second quarter, the Lakers used a 13-2 run to take its largest lead, 15, of the first half. Ignite responded to cut its deficit to eight points with under five minutes remaining in the half. The Lakers’ hot shooting in the frame helped them edge out a 66-52 lead at the halfway mark behind Cole Swider, who scored 19 of his 26 points in the first half. The Lakers shot 53.1 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent from the three-point line. The Lakers continued to pull away in the second half after using an 18-2 run in the third quarter to take a 30-point lead to coast to the victory.
