HENDERSON, Nev., Jan. 5, 2024 NBA G League Ignite (0-5) dropped its first home game of the regular season on Friday night to the Oklahoma City Blue (1-4), 125-115, at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.

Tyler Smith led the way for Ignite with a final stat line of 21 points, five rebounds and two blocks on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including 3-of-7 from the three-point line. London Johnson followed with 17 points, seven assists and three rebounds, while Ron Holland posted 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in 25 minutes of action. John Jenkins added 15 points, while Matas Buzelis contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Izan Almansa notched his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Jahmi’us Ramsey paced the Blue after recording a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds, along with five steals on 9-of-15 shooting from the field. Keyontae Johnson tallied 25 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, while Ousmane Dieng provided 21 points and six rebounds.

After a battle of runs to start the game, Ignite found itself with a one-point advantage (14-13) after using a 14-5 run to take its first lead at the 7:15 mark in the opening quarter. The Blue weathered the storm and created separation late in the frame to take an eight-point lead into the second period. The Blue held its lead throughout the second quarter after trading buckets to take a 66-56 advantage at the halfway mark. The Blue had three players with at least 12 points in the first half, led by Jami’us Ramsey with 13 points, while Ossmane Dieng and Keyontae Johnson added 12 points each. After trailing by nine points with under six minutes remaining in the third quarter, Ignite used a 15-4 run to even the score (85-85) at the 3:01 mark. Both teams continued to battle, as the Blue took a three-point lead into the final period. Tyler Smith helped Ignite pull to within striking distance after pouring in 10 of his 21 points in frame on 3-of-5 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc. The Blue extended its lead by 10 points in the fourth quarter and held its lead despite several comeback attempts by Ignite to seal the victory.
