Ignite Announces Roster For The 2023-24 Season

-- 14-year NBA Veteran Amir Johnson Named Assistant Coach --

HENDERSON, Nev., Oct. 30, 2023 NBA G League Ignite today announced its roster for the 2023-24 NBA G League season. The 2023-24 Ignite team features seven top prospects for the 2024 NBA Draft presented by State Farm: Izan Almansa, Matas Buzelis, Thierry Darlan, Ron Holland, London Johnson, Babacar Sane and Tyler Smith.

In addition, Ignite named Amir Johnson as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season, replacing Hakeem Warrick. Johnson, the 56th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, spent 14 seasons in the NBA, including stints with the Pistons, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. In 870 career games, Johnson averaged 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds and shot 57.0 percent from the field. He also spent several seasons in the NBA G League, including two seasons (2020-21, 2021-22) as a veteran player with the Ignite.

NBA G League Ignite is a first-of-its-kind team dedicated to developing top young prospects in preparation for the NBA Draft. Based at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev., the roster includes elite players who are eligible for the NBA Draft and players in the early stages of their professional basketball careers as well as NBA and NBA G League veterans who serve as mentors to the team’s young talent.  In addition to accelerated on-court development and competing for an NBA G League Championship, the team focuses on life skills training that includes financial literacy education, community service involvement and scholarship opportunities.
