HENDERSON, Nev., Nov. 4, 2022 – G League Ignite fell in its 2022-23 season opener Friday night against Oklahoma City Blue, 134-125, in Henderson, Nev., at The Dollar Loan Center.
Making their official home debut in front of 4,004 fans, Ignite caught fire and jumped out to an early 29-point lead in the first half. Efe Abogidi led the effort, scoring 17 of his 23 points in the first half while also going perfect from the field (7-7) in that span. Scoot Henderson finished with a team-high 25 points to go along with 7 assists and 2 rebounds. Four others finished with double-digit scores as John Jenkins finished with 19 points, Aubrey Dawkins tallied 14 points and Mojave King and Leonard Miller each finished with 11 points. King also led Ignite with 8 rebounds.
Oklahoma City Blue fought their way back into the game in the second half as three players finished with at least 26 points. The Blue’s leading scoring Jahmi’us Ramsey tallied a game-high 29 points while D..J Wilson recorded 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Eugene Omoruyi finished with 26 points.
